Open Agent Builder
Find Agents in the menu, check you have access, and find your way around the list of agents. Then open the builder to create a new agent or change one you already have.

Find Agents
Agent Builder is where you make agents: automations that start on a schedule, when an email arrives or on another trigger, then work through your connected systems for you. You reach it from Agents in the menu on the left. The page lists every agent you can see, with Launch Builder at the top right for a new one.

- 1Agents, in the menu on the left. If it is not there, see Who can use Agent Builder below.
- 2Launch Builder opens an empty builder for a new agent.
- 3Search agents… and Filter narrow the list when it gets long.
- 4Open in builder opens that agent on the canvas, ready to change.

The page itself is the same. Launch Builder moves under the heading, and each agent's details stack one above another instead of sitting in columns.

On a narrow phone the Archive button can sit off the right edge of each agent. Turn the phone sideways, or use a computer, to reach it.
Building is easier on a computer. On a phone the builder hides the list of nodes and the Details panel, so you can look at an agent but not set up its steps. See Find your way round the canvas.
Who can use Agent Builder
Two things decide whether you can build agents: your organisation's plan, and your own access.
- Your organisation's plan. Agent Builder comes with the Small Team and Large Team plans, and Centrus can also switch it on for an organisation by arrangement. See Small Team and Large Team.
- Agent access on your user. It is on for everyone unless an admin turns it off. Admins always have it, and the switch is greyed out for them.
An admin changes it in Edit users: open the person, then use the Agent access switch under Employee information, beside Admin and Train access. Click Save Changes to apply it. See Users and roles.

TechnicalEmployee information
- 1Agent access, under Employee information. Hover the small i beside it for the tooltip shown here.
With Agent access off, Agents disappears from that person's menu, and an Agents link takes them back to their usual start page. Everything else works as before.
If your organisation does not have Agent Builder
When your plan does not include Agent Builder, Agents is still in the menu but the page looks different. There is no Launch Builder and no list. You see cards instead: one for Agent Builder marked Add-on, and one for each standard agent your organisation has, such as the Custom Chatbot and Meeting Agent. Agents built under an earlier plan appear as cards too, back in draft.

- Automate manual repetitive tasks
- Integrate with your existing tools
Create and customise an AI chatbot that can be embedded on your website and answer questions using your Centrus knowledge base.

This agent can help you:
- Embed a chatbot on your website
- Answer questions from selected knowledge tags
- Customise styling and review conversations
AI bot that joins meetings to record and analyse conversations across Google Meet and Microsoft Teams
100 free minutes/month • 1 concurrent bot
This agent can help you:
- Join and record meetings automatically
- Generate transcripts and AI summaries
- Auto-add meeting notes to knowledge base
- 1All, Custom and Standard choose which cards show. A-Z and New-Old sort them; click either again to reverse it.
- 2Add-on: your plan does not include Agent Builder.
- 3Purchase Add-on opens the Billing tab in Settings. Only admins can open it, so anyone else needs to ask an admin.
Agent Builder is not sold on its own, whatever the card says. It comes with the Small Team and Large Team plans, so an admin gets it by moving the organisation to one of them.
There is no form on this page for requesting an agent. If you open a builder link anyway, the credits counter at the top reads Not entitled, and Centrus will not publish or run anything you build there.
Read the Agents list
With Agent Builder, the page shows one list of every agent you can see: the ones you created, the ones colleagues have shared with you, and the ones shared with the whole organisation. Standard agents sit at the top. Agents built in Agent Builder follow, from A to Z.

- 1Agents (6): how many agents match the current search and filters.
- 2A standard agent, set up by Centrus rather than built by you. Use Agent opens it. The Website chatbot and Meeting Agent have guides of their own.
- 3Custom marks an agent built in Agent Builder. The badge beside it is its status.
- 4Usage: how many times the agent has run since it was created, and the automation credits those runs used.
- 5Open in builder opens the agent on the canvas. View shows its runs, and Archive takes it out of use.
- 6No description saved shows until the agent has a description.
Each row also shows when the agent was created and who by, with your colleague's photo or initials. If the list reads No agents match, nothing fits your search or filters; click Clear to see everything again.
Credits and limits are covered in Automation credits and usage limits.
What the status badges mean
Every agent built in Agent Builder carries one of these badges beside Custom.
Published. It starts on its own whenever its trigger fires.
Saved but not published. It only runs when you test it in the builder.
Stopped and hidden from the list. Filter to Archived to see it.
A choice in the Status filter. Agents built in Agent Builder show one of the other three.
Only Live agents start by themselves. You turn a draft live by publishing it, and take a live agent off again with Revert to draft. See Publish, pause and restore versions.
Search, filter and sort
- Type in Search agents… to find words in an agent's name or description.
- Click Filter, then Type (All, Custom or Standard) or Status (All, Live, Draft, Paused or Archived).
- Click a column heading, Agent, Created at, Created by or Usage, to sort by it. Click it again to reverse the order. Created at starts with the newest agents, and Usage with those that have used the most credits.
- While any search, filter or sort is in place, Filter turns blue with a dot after it. Clear puts the list back as it was.

Books the quarterly fire door checks
- 1Filter, blue with a dot while anything narrows or sorts the list.
- 2Clear removes the search, filters and sort in one go.
- 3Search agents… matches names and descriptions as you type.
- 4Click a heading to sort. The arrow shows which column is sorted and which way.
Archived agents are left out unless you filter Status to Archived.
Create a new agent
- 1Click Agents in the menu.
- 2Click Launch Builder at the top right of the page.
- 3The builder opens with an empty canvas and an agent called New Workflow Agent. Click the name to change it.
- 4Click Start AI builder to describe the agent in your own words, or drag a node from the Nodes list on the left onto the canvas. Explore templates starts you from a ready-made agent instead.
- 5Click Save draft as soon as there is something worth keeping.
Talk with the AI Agent Builder, explore premade templates or select a node from the left.
- 1The agent's name. Click it to type a better one.
- 2Start AI builder opens a chat panel where you describe the job and the builder drafts it.
- 3Nodes: the steps you can drag onto the canvas yourself.
- 4Save draft saves the agent for the first time.
Nothing is saved until you click Save draft. Until then Runs and Settings are missing from the bar, and you cannot connect accounts or test the agent. Once it is saved, Centrus confirms it and the extra buttons appear.
- 1Draft saved: nothing is waiting to be saved.
- 2Runs runs the agent now and shows its run history.
- 3Settings holds the agent's name, description, access, connected accounts and per-run credit budget, plus its version history.
A new agent is private. Only you see it in the list until you share it. See Share an agent.
Open an existing agent
Find the agent in the list and click Open in builder. What you can do next depends on your access to that agent. With Edit access you can change it and save. With Use or View access it opens read-only, with View only in the bar.
Emails yesterday's BigChange jobs at 07:00
- 1Open in builder on the agent's row.
- 2View only: you can look around the agent but not change it. Ask its owner for Edit access if you need it.
View opens a separate page about the agent: what it can do, its schedule, total and successful runs, success rate and Activity History. Back to Agents returns you to the list.
If an agent will not open, for example because it is no longer shared with you, Centrus shows Failed to load this agent and takes you back to the list.
Back to agents, the arrow at the top left of the builder, leaves straight away without asking about unsaved changes. Save before you click it.
Archive or restore an agent
- 1Click Archive on the agent's row.
- 2Click Archive in the box that opens. Centrus confirms with Agent archived and paused.

Archive this agent?
This pauses the agent so it stops running. It will be hidden from the Agents list unless you filter to Archived. Your workflow and connected integrations are kept.
- 1Archive on the row you want to stop.
- 2The confirmation. The agent stops running and leaves the list, but its workflow and connected accounts are kept.
To bring an agent back, filter Status to Archived, click Restore on its row, then Restore again. It returns as a draft (Agent restored as a draft.) and stays off until you publish it again.
You need Edit access to archive or restore an agent. The buttons show for everyone, but Centrus refuses the change for anyone without it. There is no way to delete an agent from the list.

Limits for each organisation
- 100Live agents at once, as standard.

- 10Agent runs going at the same time.
Worth remembering

- ArchivedHidden from the list until you filter to Archived.
- When your organisation reaches its limit of live agents, take one back to draft or archive it before publishing another.

- Admins can manage who an agent is shared with, but a colleague's private agent does not appear in an admin's list.
